Squadron Leadership School is a two-day in-residence course that provides part of the content for Level 2 of the senior member professional development program. The curriculum focuses on the skills necessary to hold duty positions at the squadron level, something virtually every senior member does as part of their service to CAP and its local units.

In addition to the national curriculum guidelines, course directors Maj Matthew Phillips and Capt Stephen Leighton also created and delivered content on squadron strategic planning and individual goal setting, and Maj Bruce MacPherson (NC082/FM) talked about squadron financial management. These additional settings, and the collaborative breakout session during Saturday lunch, were designed to augment the national curriculum with practical ideas and individualized mentoring.
