CAP Cadets march in Memorial Day parade

CAP Cadets march in Memorial Day parade

4 Jun 2014

As a Civil Air Patrol Cadet, I was very excited to participate in the Thomasville Memorial Day Parade on Saturday, 24 May 2014.  The parade was a great opportunity to display the Civil Air Patrol and all it has to offer.

As a member of the color guard, I, along with the Color Guard Commander C/SMSgt B. Phillips and C/MSgt C. Herman, led the Civil Air Patrol contingent and displayed the colors in the Parade.  Several veterans saluted our flag, making us feel honored to be Americans and to be part of the legacy of those veterans’ service.

Following the color guard were cadets from the Iredell, Winston-Salem, and Sugar Valley Composite Squadrons.  Two Civil Air Patrol vans from the Iredell Composite Squadron and the Winston-Salem Composite Squadron also participated in the parade.

The parade was a lot of fun, and I believe we represented the Civil Air Patrol well. I can’t wait to do it again next year!
