Senior Members receive Yeager Award

Senior Members receive Yeager Award

9 Apr 2013

Sugar Valley senior members Gregory Burazer and Brian Mobley received the Brigadier General Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager Aerospace Education Achievement Award. The awards—among the first distinctions for the Sugar Valley unit—were presented by the NC Wing director of aerospace education, Lt Col Eric Orgain, who is also designated as the first commander once the Sugar Valley unit receives its squadron charter.

The Yeager Award is presented to senior members who have studied CAP’s Journey of Flight, 2d ed., a publication covering a broad range of aerospace theory and history. Members then take a comprehensive exam on the material. While the Yeager Award indicates achievement, it also represents a commitment to help other members of the squadron and the community to explore the impact of aviation on our communities and shared history. The Sugar Valley unit is planning a slate of aerospace education programs for cadets beginning this summer.
